The Carditot Taasr

Intended Difficulty: Hard

The Carditot Taasr is a nightmare come to life. This creature’s sole purpose is to rob living victims of their teeth. With its clamp-like hands it pulls the mouth wide open, often breaking jaws, latches on to its victim’s teeth, and pries them from its mouth. It then places its new trophy inside its own maw, which expands across its entire head. No adventurer, no scholar, no mage has come to understand why it does this, and few have come across it with their mouths intact.

Mysterious Motives.

The Carditot Taasr does not feed. It does not drink. Its only motivation seems to be to steal teeth. Some suggest that teeth are in fact its source of nourishment. As it lives, the teeth it steals are slowly absorbed into its body, which is why it always hunts for more. It rarely intends to kill its victims; but if they put up a worthy fight, it does not qualm in silencing them and taking its prize after.

Dental Collection.

No species is safe from theft. The Carditot Taasr steals from animals, humans, monsters, demons – anything that has teeth is a target. The set of teeth it creates for itself is therefore uneven, as there are varying types of teeth from several different sources. The inside of its mouth is fleshy and soft, accepting any tooth and slowly cementing it into place. Looking into the face of a Carditot Taasr is enough to make any seasoned warrior turn away. The jagged grin it wears before clamping on to the inside of a mouth is haunting.

Wanderer.

There is no home for a creature of this kind. However, the more places it travels, the greater variety in teeth it can collect. From jungles to deserts, farmlands to abandoned city blocks; it will take up residence anywhere to hunt. It will not stay long, though. Once it collects a sufficient quantity of teeth, it will move on to the next hunting ground.
